Thanks for the tip about the Hilfy Chanur GIF file.  I found it on the
alt.binaries.pictures.misc bulliten board without too much trouble.

Did the picture look a bit dark to you?  I distinctly remember the
hani on the cover painting of "Chanur's Legacy" being a nice golden
brown.  In the GIF file, however, they look like they've rusted.
Perhaps it's the way the picture was scanned.  There also could be
glitches in the GIF viewing software that's available at my site.  (A
third possibility is that the color mapping of my X-terminal is messed
up.  Ah, the joys of working with substandard equipment.)
