"Scout and recon," he murmured, and saw in his mind the exact boards,
the cramped interior of _Kite_, where the crew had to hand over hand their
way in zero G. ... They had worked close - in more than one sense, for
the dartships had no cabins, no privacy.
The names of three other crewmembers are mentioned, but there is no way to
know if there were others.

Next question: Have the riders been the same over the entire war?
This could explain some inconsistencies about the ridership capabilities.
In today's Navy, carriers have an much longer lifespan than fighters.
In _HB_, they discussed an larger computer system, even if this meant
one less crewstation. This indicates no cargo space.
In _RR_, riderships carried 30+ troops, in _HB_ the total crew was 30.
