If I may chime in with my thoughts on the discussion of a Cherryh board
game:

1.) When you guys got past the simple child's game stage, you lost
	me.
2.) On the other hand, I hate to discourage you because even the
homely oyster can create a pearl.
3.) On the other hand, I remain unthrilled by screens of code.
4.) There is no other hand.

The pearl cited in 2.):

Jo said that Cherryh rarely assumes the stance of "Author-all-knowing but
instead leaves you to see things through the characters', often biased,
views." I read that, and illumination broke. THAT'S another reason
Cherryh so fascinates me. I enjoy the challenge of seeing events through
the prism of a character's biases, experiences, and goals. Nifty.

Lesley, thanks for the explication of hani kinship webs. Has that
explanation made all clear to me? No. Is the problem with your
explanation? No. Do I see the value of an interest in pre-monarchial
Israel? Definitely.
