Louis Perrochon graduated in computer science
at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology
(ETH Zürich) and held research positions
at Humboldt University Berlin, Germany and
Stanford University. After three years building
Web businesses with Viant, he's now an engineering
director at Google where - among other things
- he started
Google Checkout (now called Google Wallet)
and lead engineering for
YouTube.
He is currently working on Google's Mapping
products.
He is interested in technical, organizational,
and social aspects of global information
systems. His research work includes Web-legacy
sytem integration, Web access for visually
impaired, Internet based information kiosks,
and cyber warfare.
